I went in to get a SERIOUS hair cut with Desha and told her I didn't blow my hair dry or use product in it. She told me she wasn't going to use any more product than the leave in conditioner she's just put in, but she used a generous amount of hair spray. She was also quite adamant I get my money's worth and get the blow out and curling iron, "since it's included". I didn't fight it, but I surely wasn't thrilled with the burning smell of heat that close to my head. I also had to tell her to turn the heat down on the blow dryer, because it was burning my scalp.

I also got the very obvious point that she wasn't interested in talking (I don't usually talk much, either), or listening to my story (ie, why my hair is as it is). She did, however, straighten me in the chair (no other hairdresser has ever done that. I have body balance issues due to surgeries from my cancer and missing muscles have caused my body to be twisted. I told her this and instead of taking the opportunity to ask questions, she shut down the conversation by saying, " You're fine").

All that, though, you'll notice, only took ONE STAR OFF the rating I'm giving her/them. I'm very pleased with the cut that I got and will most likely return to her when it's time for another cut. Just realize that I only cut my hair about every 6 months. I think this last time it was closer to 7 or 8 months, though, so just because I don't come back right away doesn't mean I wasn't happy with my service or my cut. I think I can deal with a blow dry and curl with some hair spray every 6 months.“
