Mary Etta Russum was our funeral director, and she is the most compassionate and kind person. She guided as through everything we needed for my late husband's service and burial in mid-December. Her expertise made the funeral process peacefully perfect for our family and friends.

The other staff members will great also, very polite and considerate when both picking up my mother's body and when we received her cremains too. This is the second time we have worked with Mary Etta and her staff.

My family and I were most happy with the services offered by the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home in Newark. My husband was 87 when he died, and had lived a full and productive life. We wanted to honor him and all of his accomplishments with the kind of funeral he wished to have. Spicer-Mullikin succeeded in delivering what was requested! His body was prepared as he wished.We were able to have an intimate private viewing before the casket was closed and covered with his flag. The service was low keyed and dignified, as he was. The surroundings are lovely, like a beautiful antique home. It turned out exactly as we had wished it would. The funeral home personnel were wonderful. We especially appreciate the work of the funeral director, Mitch Jackson, who was very supportive in handling all of our requests. It turned out to be exactly what we had wanted.

The staff was very patient, kind, and supportive. They had an amazing facility with lovely music and nice art that gave the place a calm, peaceful vibe. Matthew Smith was very nice to have manage our service.

Last Friday, May 30th, my father passed away after a long illness. A good friend of our family had reached out to us about Spicer-Mullikin and helped us set everything up. From the day he picked him up from our home to the funeral yesterday, they went above and beyond. My Dad had been sick for five years, however they made him look like he was never sick. He looked like he was finally at peace. John Meyer helped us pick everything out that we needed for the burial and did not try to sell us on the most expensive casket. He gave us options and did not try to sell us on what was not needed. My Mom wrote his obituary and from that, they created what I posted in the picture. She wrote one line about how he loved watching NY Yankee games and they put him where he would have loved to be any day of the week. Thank you John and the entire staff of Spicer-Mullikin. You created something for us to remember forever.
