Gracelawn Memorial Park and Affiliated Funeral Director - Committal Service May 16, 2026

On May 16, 2026, my spouse of 16 years was interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park. The decedent passed in my presence. Due to documented intrafamily conflict and reasonable apprehension for my personal safety, I chose not to be physically present at the graveside. I observed from a separate location on the cemetery grounds to ensure my emotional being was protected. I parked at my daughter’s grave after placing a red rose. I walked to a safe location, dropping red roses on other graves along the way. Some dated back to 1939. I spoke their names out of respect.

FOR FULL CLOSING HOURS, THE OFFICE IS OPEN 8am-4:30pm MON-FRI, BUT THE GATES OPEN FROM 7AM-7PM MON-SAT I BELIEVE. YOU'RE ABLE TO VISIT LOVED ONES UNTIL THE GATES CLOSED. JUST SPOKE TO SOMEONE OM THE PHONE.

Going to go visit my Daddy today. They're letting me bring my 18yo German Shepherd mix to meet him. All dogs must be on a leash. Very sweet people. Glad my Daddy is buried in a nice place.

In January, our brother, Edward Jenks passed. Eddie’s (Barney) burial had been pre-planned that he be interred near the praying hands sculpture next to his sister and father. Thank you to Natasha Cooper and all staff for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Natasha handled all arrangements with professionalism and compassion, making a difficult time less stressful. Gracelawn Memorial Park is a lovely well-kept cemetery. The Jenks Family, Deanna, Barbara, Lou and Paul
