“Hoffmans treated a yellow jackets nest located under the eaves high on the back of our house above the corner of a deck area. They responded the day after my request which was appreciated.

They quoted two prices based on the height of the ladder required to access the nest. After the technician surveyed the location, he quoted the higher price assuming use of a long ladder from the ground, which I agreed to. But then, the he proceeded to use a short ladder from the deck. I did not know this until after the treatment was done. The technician made no adjustment to the initially agreed higher price. The technician completed the treatment very quickly (less than 5 minutes).

As I monitored the nest over the next couple of days, there were quite a few dead yellow jackets that fell to the patio below. However, a few survivors remained buzzing around the nest opening. Hoffman's service agreement advertised they would perform as many follow up visits within 30 days until the infestation was completely controlled. I called 4 days after the initial treatment and they came the same day. The technician for this visit was more thorough and deliberate making sure the insecticide got into the nest. Follow up monitoring has revealed no survivors a week after the initial treatment.

Overall, I think Hoffmans was responsive and their treatments were effective in eradicating a large yellow jacket infestation. The only negative issue I have is how they quoted a higher price which I agreed to and then used a shorter ladder which should have resulted in a lower price.“
