Being from Tennessee, we appreciated the Southern hospitality that was shown to my husband and I from the moment we walked through the doors of this beautifully renovated funeral home. The staff were just as spectacular as the historic facility! Katherine was the sweetest and most accommodating receptionist. Due to time constraints, we had to go straight to Gawler’s with our luggage when we arrived in DC. She quickly showed us where to store our bags, then led us to the Founders Room offering snacks/drinks and restrooms. Both Duane & Joshua were very transparent and willing to answer numerous questions and fulfill our extra requests without hesitation. Gawler’s has obviously met with many famous and influential families over the years; however, I felt as if they treated us with the same amount of respect. Their professionalism was greatly appreciated, as it is rarely found in today’s world.
