Y’all, when I say I had the best experience with the best outcome, I am not messing around. The manager was my stylist, and he was so kind, consent-based (trauma-sensitive), and knowledgeable, and he followed my lead on whether to talk. I have a pretty insensitive scalp, too, so I always want someone to feel free to use as much force as would be helpful to them, and he did so perfectly (after asking, of course). He also gave me great advice for a product to take with me, and didn’t try to upsell me on an add-on, even though I said I was open to suggestions—he clearly just cared about doing what was best for my hair.
