I had a really great experience at this barbershop. The barber really took the time to listen to what Iwanted and even gave a few suggestions that actually made the cut look better than I expected.
I live near this place and have gone for years, but recently the price changed. It used to be that a guy could come here and pay 20-25$ for a good haircut. Now that same cut is 40$. It may be because they changed the name from U street barber to U street salon. They aren't doing anything different, but with the name change they feel like they can charge more.
I like their work, but a 20 minute trim shouldn't charge 40 bucks. I'll find somewhere else from now on, and if they bring their prices back down to something reasonable I'll change my review.
Kevin is hands down one of the best barbers out there. He gave me an amazing beard trim and haircut—clean, sharp, and exactly what I wanted. He pays attention to detail, takes his time, and you can tell he really knows his craft.
