“Started going to Sal's about 4 years ago.
I had been searching for a classic style barber for quite awhile when mine retired after 50 years. He was my first barber, now what?
Well the first time I walked in to Sal's even the customers "Hello Cousin" they were talking to me! Off to a good start then I heard Ed turn off the electric clippers and saw him spend 15 min styling and cutting hair with scissors, imagine that ? That was it for me, along with a lot of, yes Sir, no problem sir, all sharp again! With Lucky Tiger and Clubman Hair Tonic. Some Frank Sinatra and Classic Rock not to mention Service members and first responders coming and going. Well it looks like I'll be driving from Hamden to say "Hello Cousin" for some years to come.

“First time there today. Got a wash and blow dry just to check the place out. I’ve recently gone to another salon where the hairdressers talked to each other, but ignored you. Not very friendly. This place is wonderful! Everyone is so friendly. Very nice atmosphere, and I loved what Teddi did with my hair. Going back in 4 weeks for color, cut and wash and dry. I highly recommend.“

“Have you ever gotten in the barber's chair and when it was all said and done, you're a totally different person? I mean a cosmetic process that makes you feel differently inside??? A client can tell so much about a barber and the cut within the first minute of the cut. There's something about the barber's initial usage of the clippers that tells you everything you need to know about the cut. There's a lot that goes into this experience. The ambiance of the barbershop is crucial. A professional environment is so much better than one that doesn't prioritize looking, sounding, and being professional. Do the children have to listen to explicit lyrics in the songs played or what's displayed on tv? Do the barbers maintain a code of respect with what and how they communicate - or is everyone dropping F bombs every minute? I'm getting older. Peace matters. Professionalism matters. Excellence matters. Timeliness matters. Where I spend my money matters. If I am paying $50+ for each cut, I should get more than a nice haircut, I should get an entire quality experience!! Shout-out to Eddie Rosado Jose Crespo and the crew at New Heights Barbershop in Orange, CT. Every person is greeted upon walking in the door - not like "who you here for?" but an actual customer service greeting. I was impressed. Although I have never been a client of this shop, I was greeted with "Hey Furlow, what's good man - how have you been?" Barbers stopped what they were doing to dap me up. It was "OD" excellent and professional....AND THEY CAN CUT???? Hands down, this is wild and I haven't experienced this level of overwhelming care in a while. Are you looking for a barber??
