If you want to study a true form of karate the Black Bear is for you. I know karate is out of favor with many going for other MMA style martial arts. But I can guarantee at Black Bear you will learn an original and highly effective martial art in Okinawan Shorin Ryu karate. Kyoshi Marc Spears main connection is with 10th Dan Ahogan Sensei in Okinawa. This is rare for an American Karate Dojo to have a direct relationship with an Okinawan Master. The training is tough and disciplined, and each student will be challenged.
