About SRL Irish Dance Academy
Scoil Rince Luimni Irish Dance Academy serves North Central Connecticut, the Farmington Valley, and Western Massachusetts, providing the highest quality Irish dance instruction and customer service. The academy fosters a love of dance, music, and movement, and is active within the dance community and the local communities through performance, competition, and events. The academy understands the challenges young children may face when transitioning into a structured dance class without their parents. The instructors, such as Courtney, are kind and encouraging, helping the students strive for their best while also acknowledging their age-appropriate needs and stamina. The Office Manager, Devon, is also extremely helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns. The academy's students have shown remarkable growth, from initially struggling to adjust to the class, to following the teachers' directions, dancing along with their peers, and even enjoying their first recital performance. The academy's welcoming and supportive environment has allowed these young dancers to thrive and develop a passion for Irish dance. Families look forward to being part of the SRL community for years to come.
I signed my son up for the Intro to Dance class in summer 2021, right after his second birthday. We were just looking for something fun for him to do in the summer. He went in on the first day and last day, but cried for the three days in between. Courtney was so kind and encouraging- she understood that it can be difficult for kids to make the transition into this structured class without their parents at their side. The course included four classes in September, so we did those, not really planning to continue. It was just a summer thing, wasn’t it? Our son kept telling us he enjoyed “dancie class,” so we signed him up for the year. Watching him grow over this year has been amazing, from someone who cried at camp, to someone who would just lay on the floor after a long day at daycare, to someone who followed the teachers’ directions and danced along with the class, to someone who thoroughly enjoyed his time on stage at his first recital. Every person he’s worked with has been so kind and caring- helping him strive for his best, but also acknowledging that he is a toddler who has much different stamina than a high school dancer. Their expectations were appropriate for his age. The Office Manager, Devon, is also extremely helpful and doesn’t mind helping you with all of your questions and needs. We look forward to being an SRL family for a long time!
