I have been using Aquamasters for 30 years. They’ve done work on both my pools and Canton and Simsbury. I have known Mona, her husband and father and they are a true caring family business. Can’t recommend them enough.

I was a 30 year customer of Aqua Master Simsbury, and I just received a form letter stating that they did not have enough staff to service me in 2025. No other company has ever closed my pool— in 30 years! There was no call. No conversation. I have no clue what is going on at this business, so my suggestion is to stay away!

Whether it was silly questions, piping, chemicals or water testing. The staff at Aquamasters was patient and kind with us with every interaction. We clearly had no clue what they were doing and when we left the store we always felt a bit better. Thanks to their knowledgeable staff and all their help, we’ve finally been able to enjoy our pool just in time for last weeks heatwave!

Sometime in May of 2022, we had some pool opening problems and the salt water pool was starting to turn green. So I decided to bring a water sample to Aqua Masters and check the stabilizer as well as the salt level.I always test the water myself but I was not sure why I measured zero stabilizer and a extremely low salt reading, about 1800 PPM, from my Pentair SCG (Salt Chlorine Generator). My wife went to the store and they confirmed my stabilizer was zero but the salt reading was 2700 PPM and I needed 2 bags of salt. Two bags seems correct when reading 2700 ppm. Well now I thought my salt cell must be dead and I purchased a new at their store for $1200.So I installed the new SCG before I put any salt in the pool. It read 1850 PPM! Just the same as my original cell. So now I went and bought a test kit for measuring salt. It is fairly easy and the expiration date was 2023. Well would you believe it read about 1800 PPM as well? I added two bags of salt and took a measurement two days later. The sample read about 2200-2300 PPM which is the expected figure.I understand we all make mistakes but Aqua Master's will NOT admit they measured a salt reading of 2700 ppm instead of the actual 1800 ppm. That is a HUGE DIFFERENCE...50% over! They have made up countless excuses as to why I am wrong. My favorite is when someone told me that my original water sample was now old and that the salt evaporated. (I brought the orignal sample back for a retest 3 days later and it now tested at 1800 ppm like it should have the first time). Really? Salt does not evaporate, nor does water from a sealed bottle...which would only increase the salt level.I make mistakes too but I live with the consequences. Not Aqua Masters. They told me they cannot take back 'used' electronic equipment. Well I guess 1 hour of use in my pool makes it not new anymore. But they can take it back and it is quite easy. Just take the box from my hands and issue me a credit. I could have saved money buying on Amazon but we bought local since they did the water sample, and I could have easily returned it too...just adds insult to injury!Because I am a reasonable person, I asked for them to meet me in the middle. I truly do not need another Salt cell no matter the discount but I asked for middle ground. I would have been fine with buying it at their cost, which I think is quite fair for them. Their response was to call their Pentair rep to see if they can do something for me. Though I found that to be strange, to ask someone else to bail you out of your mistake, I would have accepted something.Well that was almost 2 MONTHS AGO and I have never had another email from them since.I am sure Aqua Master's does a good job with some things but do you really want to do business with anyone who DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK? Not me! Isn't that why we buy local??
