About Grimes Center

The Grimes Center is a local healthcare facility located just south of St. Raphael’s, offering short-term rehab and physical therapy services. Patients have generally praised the center for its friendly and caring staff, with many noting that the staff looked out for their well-being and provided good care. The facility is praised for being clean, with the food being unexpectedly good, and the staff, especially in physical therapy, receiving high marks for their professionalism and support. However, some reviews mention issues with medication administration, where a nurse was slow to deliver meds and lacked the necessary communication, leading to frustration. One reviewer had a negative experience when their mother was given medication that caused discomfort, highlighting the importance of attentive medication management. Parking is available behind the building for free, adding convenience for visitors. Overall, the Grimes Center is seen as a caring, clean, and well-regarded facility, especially for rehab and therapy needs, though visitors suggest that attention to medication procedures could be improved. The center has a history of positive experiences, with many recommending it for local healthcare needs.

The care of the nursing and aid staff were amazing BUT the administration, especially the social services department, specifically one individual who shall remain nameless but she knows who she is failed my poor mom. The center released my mother who was recovering from hip surgery to her home where she has absolutely no care. They said they would assist in getting her on Medicaid and she would be in a " pending" status until she was approved which meant she would be allowed to stay until the application was complete and approval accepted. This would have allowed us to get someone into her apartment to care for her. Now she is literally left alone while I myself, her daughter, recovers from surgery and my brother tends to her, his family and his job. It's nearly impossible and we are afraid for the safety of our mother. If the administration would have listened to us and guided us sooner and better and not just say they handed my brother a packet ( but didn't) and hadn't been so condescending, I believe our mother would have been in a much better position by now. We are afraid.

My husband fell and fractured his right hip last month November 15,2024. He undergone right hip ORIF November 16,2024. Post surgery he was not able to walk. Can’t able stand and put his right leg down nor be able to put any weight on the right leg due to the pain on his right knee. No pain in the right hip that was repaired but his complaint was mostly the right knee. He stayed in milford hospital for 5 days. In that 5 days he wasn’t able to walk at all. I thought to myself my God he will never be able to walk again. My husband and I both were very scared. Crying , not sleeping and all that stuff .. I thought I was going to lose my mind. I prayed to God to help me...read full review

The Grimes Center is just a block south of St Raphaels for short term rehab. Currently, free parking behind the building. My mother was just released after a 1 week stay. I was happy with the majority of the staff. There was one nurse in charge of meds that shouldn't have been. She couldn't answer any questions and had no personality. I don't like to single out 1 staff member but she continued to give my mom Miralax when she had diarrhea. Due to this bringing her home turned into a fiasco of her sobbing while "it" was pouring out of her. It's not a prescription, you can't check or make that decision on your own! How is someone like that in charge of dispensing medications?
