The treatment was completely worth it — the difference in my scalp in the before and after photos was incredible.
I have curly hair and a sensitive scalp, so I’m usually super cautious about what products I use to avoid irritation or flare-ups. Knowing that Mateo used natural oils made me feel so relieved, and that soothing, tingly sensation let me know the treatment was really doing its job. On top of that, the full body massage and facial were fantastic.
I also loved that I was the only person in the salon during my appointment — it made the whole experience feel extra peaceful and refreshing. You can tell they genuinely care about their clients. I’ll definitely be booking again!

There is no place in or around the Mystic, Ct., area that holds a candle to Mateo’s House of Beauty! I’m old, have silver hair that is fragile and needs to be treated with care. I first had a consultation with Mateo before he ever put a scissor to my hair. He Listened carefully to me and assured me he understood my concerns with fragile, long hair. We decided on a perimeter hair trim! Next week following I met our appointment with butterflies in my stomach because nobody ever captured the essence of my hair or gave it the respect it deserved through most of my life….until Mateo! Suffice it to say, he is a master of hair ART! Best haircut I have ever received and like I said, I’m old and Mateo spun my drab, long silver hair into a haircut that I only dreamed of receiving. Mateo and Joe bring a freshness to the old salons of Mystic. They are interesting, fun and genuinely gifted, intuitively precise in their work of making an older woman feel younger just by being in their presence. I cannot say enough about the salon.
