“I’ve been to this hair salon twice now to get my roots highlighted. I dyed my hair blonde, but my natural hair is dark, which creates a strong contrast—so I’ve had to touch up the roots every other month, which is quite high-maintenance.

The first time I went, the hairdresser examined my damaged hair—caused by multiple rounds of bleaching at two other salons—and suggested toning down the blonde and only highlighting the top half of my hair. This way, it would blend better with my dark roots while still keeping a blonde look. Honestly, I wasn’t excited about toning it down because I wanted to go full platinum, but I decided to trust her. The result was very satisfying—it suited my skin tone well and looked more natural.

Since then, I’ve become a regular. About 5–6 weeks later, I went back just to touch up the roots, expecting the same approach. However, the hairdresser said there was too much dark hair showing in the front and decided to highlight that area more after the first round of highlighting. Somehow, the product she used ended up lightening all of my hair again—almost like it was shampooed with bleach—so I ended up going full blonde instead of keeping the blended style from before. Still, I was happy with how it turned out.

Each visit takes about three hours, so if you’re planning to get your hair dyed, be sure to make an appointment.“
