I have never been treated so poorly by a business that provides a needed service such as upholstery work. My 10 outdoor cushions were in need of new covers due to mold damage and my request was to make the new covers in the identical manner. The fabric I provided was well more than needed but contained a flaw unknown to me. Todd was very rude on the phone and talked down to me about the problem and wanted to change the pattern of covers. I requested him to work around the flaw since he had more than enough yardage. This took over two weeks to have him respond as to whether he could do it. Additionally, he told his secretary is was $75 to add fiber to my cushion cores, then charged me $125 instead on top of the labor charge when job was completed. Upon going to the shop to pick them up, he was yelling at me and tossing the remaining goods at me pointing at the flaw to prove there was a flaw. I never challenged him on this issue when he informed me upon inspecting the goods..
The rudeness in person was frightening as he verbally attacked me in front of his workers in the shop. Just astounding that I was treated so rudely for a service business such as his. His work was good but the encounter overall was shocking and disturbing.

I have used these people for several projects over the years. Great work at reasonable prices. They have recovered my 1973 Henredon wing chairs three times, and they have been perfect each time.

Do not use this vendor. I had a horrible experience with him. He gave me a quote and then increased by $800. When I decided not to use him, he would not return one of my sample seats. I had to call the Police to get my seat back and he was still difficult. DO NOT USE THEM. VERY DiFFiCULT!

I had 6 chair cushions made by Family Upholstery. Fran was a delight to work with. The men who did the actual work did an amazing job! I highly recommend them!

The actual upholstery work done by the upholsterer is fine, but the woman in the storefront "Fran" is so rude and unpleasant that I cannot recommend that anyone do business with this company. If there is even the slightest problem or question, Fran gets ATTITUDE that no customer should ever have to face. It's a shame that she is costing Family Upholstery good customers. Oh, well.
