Dr. Coins came to the rescue when our elderly dog had a large bleeding wound after a mishap at the groomers. He listened empathetically, treated our dog so well using local anesthesia that you would never know there was ever a wound, and observed him carefully after the procedure. I found a young, thin, flea-ridden cat in East Rock Park. She had a ruptured abscessed wound under her tail. Dr. Pires determined that the wound on her tail resulted in nerve damage and she did not seem to have any control or feeling. The vet recommended amputation. I considered keeping her because she really is a special cat, but everything she needed done today alone totaled over 1.7k and would require specialized post-surgical care.
