I was referred to Dr. Collier for vision therapy, for post-concussion care. Dr. Collier and her vision therapy program has been amazing in diagnosing and treating my vision problems! Since my concussion 4 years ago, I have been struggling with multiple brain/vision issues that drastically reduced my quality of life (just google post-concussion syndrome, and you’ll get the picture) and it degraded me from an executive level business professional, to someone without independence, barely able to get 2 sentences together, barely able to tolerate any movement infront of my eyes, unable to look at screens, unable to tolerate being a car passenger, and with a HUGE list of cognitive issues that were misdiagnosed for 3.5 years. With such a long time being misdiagnosed, I did not think it was possible to overcome these issues and the future was bleak to say the least. After 3 months of therapy I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and my symptoms are decreasing and I am starting to get back independence - I can walk into a store and do grocery shopping! Depending on your level of damage it might not be a quick fix, but you just need to commit and trust the process. 3 months sounds like a long time to be just seeing light at the end of the tunnel but take it from me, it is a very exciting and promising feeling to see my brain/eyes responding. I live far away from their location, so I am doing their online program “Built for Life”. The online program is very convenient and flexible. Even though I am doing it at home through virtual therapy, the online program is very instructive, and very easy to follow along even with confusion and other cognitive issues that I have/had. You are provided with take-home vision therapy tools, access to online modules, and a large packet of exercises that you work through as instructed. While you work through the program, the therapists check in and apply a personalized approach to support your individual healing process. The Director of Vision Therapy, Jessica, has been instrumental in my progress and within 3 months of treatment, the various therapies are helping me!! I am very grateful for all of their service and support. Dr. Collier and the whole team are so knowledgeable and explain everything so clearly. They listen to concerns and answer all questions in a compassionate and supportive way. I feel very comfortable and confident in their care. I would highly recommend Dr. Collier, Jessica, and their team of therapists to anyone looking for a resolution to their post-concussion brain/vision issues. I also want to mention that I recommend anyone who has any vision issues, not necessarily just people who have had a concussion or a sports injury, to visit Dr. Collier and her office. With migraine illnesses and other neurological illnesses commonplace, the relationship between our brain and eyes can be affected in ways that we don't realize because it’s not talked about! Dr. Collier and her team are innovative, cutting-edge in their field and they can help you return to healthy functioning.
