we had a wonderful experience up until we were ready to pull the trigger, after discussing our needs, wants and desires for our dream kitchen and receiving high quotes with boring and underwhelming designs from kitchen tune up, my husband and i took some time and spent several months dreaming, drawing and envisioning what our perfect kitchen looked like and we came up with a design on our own that we knew fit all our needs that we could take to kitchen tune up and a few other cabinetry companies to get bids to compare to so we would not waste any more of our time getting designs that didn't excite us. Our kitchen remodel is going to cost well over 100k and will be a huge investment for us, so it needs to make sense in every way possible. our kitchen is a nice size with lots of potential. so brainstorming the best option was very important. the first and second renderings weren't necessarily going to be a home run and we understood that it might take some time to get to where we needed to be. however, kitchen tune up must not understand that. they were no longer willing to spend any more time to provide pricing on cabinetry on what will end up being our final design. it took a little time, but our ideas changed and morphed, into exactly what we were dreaming of and we now feel comfortable spending 100k as the design now has the designer elements and foot print that works best for our needs and space. it's truly unfortunate that they were willing to continue to check in on us regularly, consistently pressure us multiple times to make a quick decision, sign a contract and pay a 50% deposit on a design we weren't happy with, because "pricing on cabinetry was going up" (which we did not fall for these awful high pressure sales techniques, thank God) and then when we felt like we had honed in a a very specific measured out design, denied giving us pricing for cabinetry unless we give them a retainer, meaning we would HAVE to go with them. anyone redoing their kitchen whether it's a quick little tune up or a gut, should be able to get multiple prices to compare and ensure that their money is being stretched as far is it can go. I was sooo excited when I sent the design we came up with to Kathryn and her response was incredibly rude and unexpected. fake is a great way i would describe her. she seemed absolutely so sweet and wonderful, until she wasn't. I caution anyone who is looking to do a big project/gut, because she will make you feel like you wasted her time. when in fact she wasted ours just as much.
I was well overdue to have my ugly cabinets refaced!! I called Kitchen Tune Up of Denver for an estimate. Owner, Kathryn was right on time for our appointment!! She showed me hundred of beautiful samples to transform my cabinets and doors. I used my existing cabinets, as I liked the layout. I also wanted a new tile backsplash. Kathryn took care of that as well. I wanted an industrial look for my downtown loft. I chose a metallic silver veneer, “Wired Mercury”. After placing my order, it took a month or so to get the doors and veneer delivered. This is understandable for custom fitting. When the wonderful installers Josh and Steve arrived, they remove the doors and existing hinges and hardware. They started cutting the veneer and removing unneeded door handles!! FAST!! The tilers Armando and Nick installed a beautiful backsplash. In all honesty, due to weather and a few other factors, it took about a week. The result is dazzling!! I’m very happy with my choice. I highly recommend Kitchen Tune Up. Ask for Kathyrn…she’s a pro.
