“INCREDIBLE!!! This was by far the best massage I’ve had in my life! I hold a lot of tension in my shoulders and I mentioned that in my intake form. When I arrived they asked if I needed a parking permit for one of the permitted spots on the street, i had already found parking but I love that they offer this!! Mel immediately started going over what I put on my intake form and my preferences. They asked if I wanted the table warmer on, which I was super appreciative of! I'm chronically ill and struggle with regulating my temperature sometimes and it was a very hot day and I've never even been given the option of opting in or out on the table warmth before. Then I chose the oils to be used and I was torn between the lavender and frankincense and the orange and ylang ylang, so mel said “if it helps lavender and frankincense is called ‘harnessing peace’ and the orange and ylang ylang is called ‘infusing joy’” which ofc that did not help my indecisive brain because obviously i would love to invite both peace and joy into my life and mel being the amazing person they are without hesitation suggested we do half of the massage with one and the other half with the other! LOVED! Now onto the massage. This was my first ever reiki massage and it was amazing! I could truly feel the flow of energy and it’s only been a day but I feel like I do notice a difference in my overall energy for the better as well. Mel also asked before we began if facial massage was okay as well, which I loved being asked, and i ofc said yes! The facial massage is what I remember most about the first half of the massage bc it was phenomenal! I’ve had facials before that included massages but nothing like this and it was one of my favorite parts! The most memorable part of the 2nd half of the massage was the absolute magic that Mel can work with their hands! The way they just completely melted the tension in my shoulders and neck was sensational!!! That was what truly made it the best massage! Every massage I’ve gotten previously it feels like the therapist is rigidly focused on the ‘knots’ in my shoulders (and I could always feel the roundness and firmness of those knots during the massage, uncomfortably, if that makes sense) but Mel literally made my tension flow away with ease! And lastly, I am neurodivergent and I feel like this message was very neurospicy friendly. Most massages I get because of this tend to be at a slight level of uncomfortable because often therapists will do the same motion multiple times with the same pressure in the same area and this creates a very uncomfortable sensation for me but I usually just power through because I know the final result of that will be worth it. I truly didn’t know the tension could be relieved with any other technique because every massage I had had until yesterday utilized that same method. The way that mel can focus on one specific area without those identical repetitive motions I’d always experienced before while simultaneously relieving the tension in my shoulders better than any of those previous massage therapists in my opinion should tell you all you need to know here! I also got a chance to meet Mel’s wife Staci, the other therapist at Whole Healing Space, on my way out and she was so kind and radiant! Such a wonderful place! My partner booked this massage for me and just now after looking at their booking site more they have membership programs which I love and they’re shareable which I also love! So many reasons to love whole healing space!”
