On Craigslist, I bought a keyboard stand made by this company (US-44 Utility Stand). I play lap steel guitar and was interested in playing while standing so I extended the height by putting dowels into the legs and put a thin board on top for my stuff and guitar. This unit is discontinued by the company and I don't blame them. The design couldn't have been simpler but also couldn't have been more confusing to put together. I've color coded the joints for ease of assembling. I'm very happy with it!

Ultimate Supports used to make really high quality product and they stood behind it. I used their stands for many years all through the 80's and 90's. That was THEN and this is NOW -- and the company has changed. I ordered several Ultimate Support stands for my studio and gladly paid the higher price believing I was getting the Ultimate Support quality I knew from the past. But to my dismay the product I received was cheap Chinese junk that wasn't made well and was not strong enough to support the equipment it was sold to support. I contacted Ultimate Supports via phone and email (this went on for weeks) and sent pictures and videos showing the problem with the product. My experience with support felt like they don't even know their own product. (very surprising to me - I visited their factory in the 80's and they made the product in house and knew everything there was to know - apparently now they just sell stuff made overseas that they aren't even familiar with) After weeks of back and forth, the best they would offer was to SELL me another one at a discounted price and I pay the shipping. Not a return or an offer to replace or fix the defective items.

Ultimate is a national (international?) company that makes stands for musicians and music. The fact that you can call them and get support is a rare bird in America. I explained my needs to several of their local retail outlets and they said they would "get back to me". They never did. But a simple call to Ultimate got me a call back within an hour or a direct connect with a knowledgeable person who knew what I wanted, had the product dimensions, and was able to take an order, and ship then and there. If local is not working for you for the products Ultimate supplies, anywhere in the USA, don't hesitate to go direct!
