I have a childhood back injury that gives me problems once in a while. Going to a chiropractor helped in the past but was becoming less effective because my muscles were too tight. I usually only have pain for a few days but this time I was going on two weeks of pain that over the counter pain meds couldn't touch. This interfered with my sleep and in turn made the pain worse, creating a nasty cycle. I don't like to be touched but the last thing I wanted was a highly addictive prescription that masked the pain only for it to flare up again later rather than solving my problem.
