Westside CARES is a nonprofit organization that brings together 24 interfaith communities in El Paso County to provide crisis human services. They assist individuals and families in need, with the only criteria being genuine need and residency within their service area. Westside CARES collaborates with other agencies to ensure adequate crisis intervention services and create a network of interdependent and complementary services.
One individual appreciates the help they receive yearly during the holidays, although the assistance was minimal this year with gift cards. Another individual expresses gratitude for the support in obtaining identification, clothing items, and guidance to access food resources. A third person shares how the agency has been instrumental in providing hygiene products and housing resources for the past 5 years of homelessness. They also highlight the availability of staff and volunteers to connect families with valuable community resources and comprehensive services.
The people are all so friendly and do everything in their power to assist you. For rental assistance, you need to be there around 5am because they only help the first 3 people for rent and people get there to line up between 5 and 530am. Bring a drink, snack and maybe a folding chair. The others in line are also always so friendly.

I've never used their services. I will say the people that I knew who did, were ? satisfied. Every place has it's ups and downs. It's a sad fact that some people aren't happy unless they have something to gripe about and you could have done everything in your ability to help and it wouldn't be enough. Much love for everything you do. I can say it's a lot more than what the rescue mission does. Thank you for being a resource for those who don't have many options
