“We recently completed a two-phase landscaping redesign with Jake’s Design beginning in summer of 2024 with the front of the house and completing the rest of the project in October 2025. From our very first meeting, the team took time to understand our style preferences and tailored their design to perfectly complement our property and lifestyle.

What stood out most during the design process was how attentive the designers were to both aesthetics and budget. There was a designer change between phase 1 and phase 2. For phase 2, Justin met with us to review the initial design plan and adjusted the plan to incorporate elements for more trees/privacy, patio zones, lawn and lighting elements. Justin also had a lot of patience in working with us to ensure we found the exact right plantings and materials to match our vision while working with the aesthetic of our property.

For install, Sam led an impressive crew with several returning members from the first phase. Steven, James, Tebow, Greg, Billy, and Wally arrived on time, kept the job site clean and organized, and provided clear updates on progress. Their professionalism and attention to detail made a big difference, and we appreciated knowing exactly what would be happening each day.

They happily answered questions and addressed any concerns. If the tree placement didn’t look quite aligned…they gladly got out the tape measure to make sure the spacing was just right. They wanted it to be perfect and for us to be happy with the results – down to every tree/plant placement! Never did they make me feel like my check-ins were irritating/annoying.

Justin and Sam also helped us manage adjustments during installation and clearly communicated estimates and work order changes, e.g., explaining a change to the retaining wall due to the grading of the yard, adjusting the lighting placements, or working with Matt on how we could cover our native grass area with just one additional sprinkler zone to minimize costs.

Now that both phases are complete, we’re thrilled with how everything turned out. Our yard looks beautiful and has multiple functional spaces thanks to Jake’s Designs’ commitment to quality and communication. We highly recommend Jake’s team to anyone in the Colorado Springs area who’s looking for talented designers and a professional crew that truly cares about their work. Our neighbors have already noticed and commented on the transformation. We’d recommend Jake’s Design without hesitation.

He listened to us, made informed suggestions without trying to push us towards anything we didn’t want, and is very knowledgeable at what he does. “I have used Bob Rundo Tree Surgeon for 25 years to fertilize my trees, spray against a pine beetle infestation, and to prune my trees. Most recently, I used them for extensive tree trimming.I am writing this review to commend two deserving employees, Zac Burke and Jacob Gill. Before meeting Zac and Jacob, I was apprehensive that two careless workers would come, indiscriminately hack at my trees to trim them, and then leave a mess. I could not have been more wrong!Before doing any work, they took time to discuss the trimming work to be done—which I really appreciated!! Both men were articulate and spoke English—which I also appreciated!Zac and Jacob worked safely and carefully. They were careful in how they brought down branches. They were careful not to damage my nearby fence. They tiptoed around seven perennial flowers that were planted near the base of the tree. Not one plant was damaged.Zac and Jacob went above and beyond to get dead branches cleared out of my trees. They truly went the extra mile!! They noticed two diseased branches that I had not seen. One branch was so compromised that there was a twenty-inch gash where light showed through it. I was relieved that they spotted it and took it down.I was also impressed by their teamwork. They helped each other every step of the process. They had positive, cheerful attitudes and I never heard bad language or complaining. They were a great team!!At the end, I was also grateful how thoroughly they cleaned up the branches and debris. My yard looked tidy and the street area where they chipped the wood was swept clean.I cannot say enough good things about Zac and Jacob!! This company can be very proud of them!! “We needed our sprinklers blown out and my usual guy was not able to schedule me before the snow comes later in the week. I appreciated the ease it was to schedule with Greg , within a weeks time . His assistant Cari was easy to talk to and readily available by phone. Greg was a little behind and so I was glad I called to find out where he was in his day . Cari called him and returned her call to me within 15 minutes or less . It was $85 for 5 zones . I do not know how that compares to other blowout businesses. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews . I found Greg and Cari to be professional and efficient.“
