I would never recommend this firm to anyone. I hired them to represent me in a custody case involving serious concerns for my son’s safety. I provided them with extensive evidence, including police reports and documentation that I had gathered myself. Despite being told the case would likely cost around $10,000–$15,000, I ultimately paid over $36,000 in legal fees.

What was most frustrating was that I felt like I was doing most of the work myself. I made the phone calls, gathered and submitted the evidence, and stayed on top of every detail of the case. In the end, we lost, and I was left feeling completely unsupported and disappointed with the representation I received.

After the case was over, I continued making payments on the remaining balance of approximately $4,000 at $250 per week. Even while actively paying the debt, I felt harassed for six months over the outstanding balance. After everything I had already gone through emotionally and financially, the constant pressure only added to my frustration.

This was one of the most difficult experiences of my life, and I expected compassion, communication, and effective representation. Instead, I walked away feeling financially drained and deeply let down. Based on my personal experience, I would not use this firm again.

My experience with Attorney Kevin Stoner of Cordell & Cordell was 10/10.

Kevin treated me with dignity and respect throughout the entire process.

I would highly recommend Kevin Stoner if you need any legal assistance.

I highly advise you to not hire Cordell & Cordell. I was billed over $21,000 in 7 months and my attorney Kevin Stoner got me nowhere. The only thing done was a stipulated temp order that the opposing counsel wrote, only change was custody. I knew the hourly rate was high but $21,000 and never see the inside of a court room is absurd. I had to hire another attorney because I could not afford to keep paying Cordell & Cordell for nothing

Very professional, detailed, patient, understanding, knowledgable, and always felt they worked toward a fair settlement. Thank you Keri and Krista for all your great work representing me during this difficult time.

I used Cordell & Cordell's prenuptial services. From my first contact to the conclusion, I was treated with courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism. Cordell & Cordell is known for advocating for men, and although I worked exclusively with women at the firm, their direct and impartial approach reflected this reputation. The digital portal streamlined communication and document uploads. Whenever a personal response was needed, Aureal and my attorney, Keri, consistently replied promptly with detailed emails, phone calls, or voice messages. On signing day, what could have been awkward felt reassuring and comfortable for both my fiancé and me. Finally, the deposit refund was processed swiftly, and the remaining balance was promptly returned directly to my bank account. I recommend Cordell & Cordell without hesitation.

Cordell cost me thousands of dollars and then I had to pay a different attorney to clean up their mess. Kathleen didn't know basic elements of Colorado family law and charged me to do "research" after she created an embarrassing situation with opposing counsel. She made several errors with simple calculations (e.g. the numerical difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly) and had to be corrected by the mediator and opposing counsel. Eventually it became clear that she'd completely lost control of my case and began seeking direction from opposing counsel. The motion she wrote was a mess and had to be completely re-written.
What's worse, I noticed early on that they relentlessly inflate the billable hours with reports that aren't helpful or requested. The legal counsel I received felt like paying a grad student to write essays and learn through trial and error. My case was simple and Kathleen made it into a costly nightmare. Fortunately, I found a very good attorney to replace Kathleen and things have gone much better since. Having to fire an attorney and find a replacement 6 weeks Before trial is not fun. Trust me, you don't want to learn this the hard way. Find a better law firm.

Financially Exploited and Poor Representation by Cordell & Cordell Engaging Cordell & Cordell, specifically with attorney Kevin Stoner, to navigate my divorce was a regrettable decision. My initial concern, a $50,000 request from my wife for only being married one year, morphed into a financially draining ordeal, leaving me out over $130,000. Expecting expert guidance, I found myself at the mercy of Cordell & Cordell's questionable tactics. Despite the simplicity of my case, they steered me away from an amicable settlement, opting instead to drag the process out, seemingly driven by a desire to maximize billing. The financial impact was staggering, with my expenses skyrocketing far beyond the initial request. It became evident that Cordell & Cordell prioritized their own financial gains over achieving a fair resolution for their clients. The decision to go to court was a grave mistake. Cordell & Cordell provided little to no defense arguments on my behalf, leaving me inadequately represented and vulnerable during proceedings. It was a clear indication that their primary concern lay in their fees, not in securing a favorable outcome for me. In summary, my experience with Cordell & Cordell and attorney Kevin Stoner was characterized by financial exploitation and inadequate representation. I strongly caution others against choosing this firm, especially if seeking a prompt and fair resolution, as their actions seemed more aligned with financial gains than genuine client care.

1 star because 0 isn’t an option. I hired a “Lead Attorney,” Christine Dolan, at $50 more per hour than others assuming she would be better. I guess you don’t always get what you pay for. Even the “Senior Litigation attorney,” Kevin stoner would return any of the 3 calls or emails to him pleading to contact me to oversee this. 1 month and $40,000 later I hired another attorney with a different firm to undo her mistakes. Making that move was the best decision I could have made as it has worked out better than I could have imagined. Unfortunately, it seems to be isolated to the Colorado Springs office, I have representation with Cordell and Cordell in another state and they have been fantastic. Even when a client care representative contacted me in attempt to make things right I was let down again. They argued that they were justified in their actions which I should have expected, do you think a law firm would admit they were wrong as opposed to arguing? You’d have better luck getting blood out of a stone. I just wished they argued as hard for me while in court. I have no doubt in my mind that a circus clown would be better equipped to handle your legal issues than this office would.

Worse than Worthless! When I approached Cordell and Cordell I had been married one year with my wife wanting $50k. After being billed a year with them, I ended up having to shell out over $120k. I had expected Cordell and Cordell to review my case and provide legal counsel on the best approach in obtaining a fair settlement. They provided nothing of the sort. Their focus seemed more on billable hours. Just because you are paying them doesn't mean they have your best interest in mind. The assigned attorney, Kevin Stoner, proved to be completely useless.
