The Veterinary Behavior Center (VBC) is a wonderful resource for pets with behavioral issues. Dr. Feldman is highly regarded for his knowledge and heart for animals, particularly dogs. He is insightful and dedicated to helping both the pets and their parents. Sammi, who handles scheduling and other processes, is also highly praised for her work. The VBC has been described as life-changing for both pets and their owners. One family, in particular, credits the VBC for the progress they have made with their border collie. The VBC took the time to understand the unique needs of the breed and provided options without judgment. The VBC's approach includes compassion and understanding. They provide a quiet and open lobby, allowing pets to remain calm and not be overwhelmed. The staff knows how to handle animals without causing them stress. The VBC also provides medical solutions for behavioral issues. They prescribed anti-anxiety medication for the border collie, which has proven to be beneficial for both the dog and the owner. The VBC is highly recommended for any pet parent seeking guidance for their pet's behavioral issues. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping both the pets and their owners.
I can't say enough great things about the Veterinary Behavior Center. When we started at VBC, our dog, Olive, was afraid of any human she didn't know, and would bark at them incessantly to get them to go away. The team at VBC came up with a thoughtful plan to reduce Olive's stress by a) trying out a sequence of medications to see what Olive responded to best, and b) then gradually and systematically exposing her to new humans and their common movements (Olive weirdly hated it when people stood up from a sitting position) by associating the stimuli with positives (sound markers and treats). We sought out the support of the Vet Behavior Center after a reactive incident with our dog, June. What we had hoped was just puppy behavior was clearly becoming something more complicated, and we were out of our depth. A few weeks later, we had our first appointment with Dr. Feldman, who made us feel understood, validated, and most importantly, like our girl was in caring, knowledgeable hands. A year later, she still has not had a single incident. The combination of training and medication recommended to us has done wonders. I don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for Dr. Fagen and her team. My dog was troubled, not sleeping, fighting with my other dog and my regular vet suggested this place for guidance. After months of trial and error, months of dog training from Sarah, my dog is like a new dog. She sleeps through the night, and my multi-dog household is manageable and happy. Everyone is always so kind, so empathic, so helpful and responsive. I will furever be so thankful and suggest this place to anyone needing assistance with their animals. You all are the best!
