Denver Test Prep (DTP - Boulder) offers students an efficient and effective way to improve academic performance with customized tutoring programs. The team includes professional tutors and highly trained specialists supporting neurodiverse learners. Services include Academic Tutoring, Reading Intervention, Academic Coaching, Test Prep, Writing Support, and Nonprofit Programs. One tutor is described as a fabulous SAT tutor who helps students become better, more confident test takers with awesome tips and tricks. Another tutor is highlighted as a great support, cheerleader, and true professional who communicates well and clearly cares. Students connect with this tutor, understand the direction given, and respond very well, improving tremendously. Sessions are a much better use of time than group classes because the help is directly catered to the individual's needs, balancing strengths with areas for improvement. This tutor has been an amazing asset for a student with ADHD, providing positive, encouraging support and covert executive function coaching. The strategies learned help with tests and other subjects going forward.
If you are looking for effective, quality test prep for your high schooler, they are the best! Both my daughters were tutored by Dan Koken for the ACT (and Emily for math focus) and I cannot recommend them highly enough. One daughter improved by 5 points and the other by 8!!!! These results made all the difference to them in their college apps and confidence levels. They both worked hard but the incredibly skilled, friendly, supportive, and non-painful work that Dan did with both of them really made the difference. Test prep isn't fun but somehow Dan made it so they didn't hate it and worked so well with each of them although they are very different kids. I don't regret a penny of the spend or a minute of the time the girls spent with Dan and Emily.
I worked with Dan Koken to prepare for the LSAT Flex exam. We utilized Zoom for virtual tutoring sessions, and it was such an easy and effective process. The 1-on-1 attention really allowed for the flexibility and focus I felt I needed to prepare for such a huge exam. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I had to suddenly shift gears and prepare for the LSAT Flex Exam after the traditional LSAT was rescheduled several times and eventually cancelled. The tutoring meetings really helped me to work through all of the setbacks and nerves during this time. I absolutely recommend Denver Test Prep for any tutoring needs, especially if you are looking into taking the LSAT. It's a complicated exam, and the tutoring process was truly tailored to suit my needs and assure that I felt as ready as possible on test day.
Dan and his team were amazing in preparing my children for the ISEE test! They helped my children improve their test taking skills. They also taught my children math content which was on the test, but that they had not yet learned in school.
