“We had a really positive experience with Davies Animal Medical Hospital when we unexpectedly needed emergency care for our dog, Riley. We arrived at approximately 3:00 and were completely finished and on our way home by about 4:30, which was impressive considering we came in on an emergency basis.
Dr. Rocha Colombo and his assistant were wonderful throughout the entire visit. They were incredibly helpful, courteous, patient, and understanding, and we truly felt that they were dedicated to figuring out what was going on with Riley rather than simply rushing through an emergency appointment.
Riley suddenly developed an issue with her paw, and Dr. Rocha Colombo took the time to investigate the cause and rule out concerns such as a fracture or break. They performed X-rays and in-house testing, and thankfully those concerns were ruled out. Ultimately, it was suspected that she had experienced an allergic reaction to some type of sting or bite, and she was treated accordingly.
I also appreciated that the cost felt very reasonable considering everything that was done. Our total was $882.35, which included the emergency exam, in-house lab work, forelimb X-rays, and medications. After comparing the charges with current pricing for similar emergency veterinary services, the cost was very much in line with--and in some areas better than--what you can expect for this level of emergency diagnostics and treatment.
Most importantly, we never felt rushed or dismissed. Dr. Rocha Colombo and his assistant genuinely seemed invested in finding the source of Riley's problem and making sure she received the care she needed. To be taken in unexpectedly, have everything thoroughly investigated and treated, and be back on our way home within about an hour and a half was greatly appreciated.
