“This is a complete dark horse of a salon. I feel like everything about its presentation is very unassuming, but they have extremely skilled stylists and are really underpriced all things considered. My favorite stylist is Amanda who was extremely receptive to a challenging dye job I asked for and gave me this AMAZING look for my birthday last year pictured below. As a transgender person, it’s really rare that I feel entirely comfortable going to salons in these more rural areas, especially because I get misgendered a lot and that can be hard on me, but I have never once been made to feel uncomfortable at this salon. It was where I got my very first major haircut after transitioning way back when and my stylist at the time kept some of the hair that was cut off and tied it together for me to keep because of the emotional significance of it for me.

A lot of stylists that present their businesses as luxury salons will try to project what they think looks good on you, and that is a major hardship for me as a queer person, but I was very lucky to have Amanda as my go-to hairdresser during my time living in Willits. Now that I’m living in Lake County it’s very very hard to find a replacement that’s quite like her, but if you live in the area I super recommend salon 707, especially if you’re alternative or queer. It’s by far the best place to get your hair cut / styled / dyed in Willits.“
