Another oral surgeon who could not treat my mouth condition sent me to Dr Su, telling me she is one of only a handful of oral pathologists in the country. She has been resolving the issues I had for years in a timely fashion that no other dentist or oral surgeon knew how to deal with. Her treatments reflect the amount of research she does. This is not the person you want to see for tooth extractions. She is the person to go to with significant life- impacting oral issues. Yes, the cost because she opted out of Medicare is significant. But my quality of life is so improved, I do not regret having to pay.

My mother had been suffering with what she described as a painful mouth for years and years and we couldn't figure out what it was. She said her gums felt like they were on fire and she almost cried when a different dentist misdiagnosed her with periodontal disease and performed a scaling and root planing procedure. I was coincidentally across the country in a periodontal residency at the time and I was convinced this was something more oral path related. It always amazes me how the review of someone can range from 5 stars to one star with nothing in between. This is the case with Dr. Su, who is very good at what she does when it works, and when it doesn't the patient still has the problem and is broke. Dr. Su doesn't use insurance, so it's a gamble, and she's expensive. Surely worth it given her expertise and education. But few are the doctors so sure of their work and results that they guarantee it with money back if it doesn't work. Such is medical or dental "practice."
