Dr. Chan is excellent. The reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 has to do with the front staff. I was told that my insurance would cover part of the cost for a pair of sunglasses and I was quoted a price. The staff member then encouraged me to wait until my annual appointment to purchase them (so my benefit could be applied). However, when I got done with the appointment one month later and was ready to purchase the glasses, another staff member said I had to pay full price. When I explained this to the staff member who had originally quoted me the price (she had even encouraged me to put the glasses on hold), she said she "did not remember" ever quoting me the discounted price. I should have asked for the quote in writing. I will be doing this from now on and I would definitely advise others to do the same. I would hope that the front staff is more clear in the future. Furthermore, I would hope that they don't "forget" details promised.
I have been a patient here since 2018. Now My whole family goes there as well. Veronica is so wonderful. She remembers patient's name and paid attention to details. I am allergic to nickel and she has been so helpful helping me pick a pairs of glasses that caused no issue. Dr. Doherty is also very nice to work with. He explains things that we can easily understand. We will stay with his office as long as our insurance allows. Love the selections of frames as well.
My wife and I brought our two sons into Insight Optometry. We were all seen by Dr. Doherty. He was great to work with. He has a great disposition. Throughout the exam he explained the various tests and screenings. Our sons who are 12 and 14yo don't love going to see the doctor enjoy Dr. Doherty. He has great rapport with kids who aren't that interested in conversations with anyone other than their peers. We will be Insight Vision patients as long as we live in WC. If you are looking for a local great family owned optometry practice then you should give them a shot.
