This gym smells like a dirty armpit. I can handle the smell of sweat which most gym smell like but this one is funky throughout. It smells so strong it made me nauseous I couldn't even work out. I frequent the Richmond and Concord locations but I definitely will not be coming back to Vallejo too bad too because it's right down the way from my job but it's worth the extra commute not to throw up from the smell while working out 🤢🤢

Visit late at night after 9 pm, not crowded at all. Pool was totally empty.

Free weights are never organized, even at 5AM. And the kettle bells are always locked up and when I ask for them to be unlocked they say “only the personal trainers have the key.” So now I have to walk around looking for a personal trainer to ask them to unlock the weights I pay monthly to use? What sense does that make

Good gym, great staff. Wish we had DBs over 100lbs. People are better at racking their weights here than the usual gym.

I was excited when I signed up for City Sports. It had more equipment than my previous gym and was less packed during peak hours. However, my excitement lasted merely two weeks. The free weights are never organized and people never wipe down the machines they use. There are a lot of cable machines but most are broken for long periods of time. My final straw was having my car broken into. Not once but twice. The first time Alyssa was great. She filed a report with her manager and stuck around till the tow truck arrived at 12am. I was told corporate would reach out to me following the incident. I never got a call from corporate or from security saying they watched the footage. Yes I know they cant do much for things stolen or car being damaged, but a call sharing your sympathy for a new customer goes a long way. Literally a week after the first break in, my car was broken into again. It does not matter what time you go to this gym you run the risk of getting broken into. I have a friend that goes in the morning and his window was smashed. I called to ask for annual fee to be reversed for canceling three weeks after starting the contract but was told no. I guess in the end its just business and business has to make money. Despite the horrible experience, I appreciate the customer service provided by Dillion and Alyssa from the moment of signing up to greeting me when walking in.

the super loud zumba music ruins the vibe😭 i could even hear it over my beats & it’s always super busy (something they can’t control) i usually go to the gyms in Sac, and they are cleaner with newer equipment compared to this one, but for this or planet fitness being the only options in vallejo i guess this one isn’t terrible but i don’t think i’d go here again

The gym is ok, there is an unpleasant odor.
But I wanted to talk about the kids area on this review. I’ve been a member at this gym for almost two years, and during that time, I’ve been consistently bringing my baby to the kids area in hopes of getting him comfortable with the environment. Unfortunately, our experience has never been positive when it comes to the staff working there.
Today was the last straw. I dropped my son off and returned about 10 minutes later to check on him through the glass window. I saw that he was crying, standing next to a staff member named Ann, who was sitting at the computer. I waited for a bit to see if she would comfort him, but she didn’t acknowledge him at all.
I eventually walked in and asked if she planned on comforting him. Her response was, “I tried talking to him.” I pointed out that he was still crying right next to her and she hadn’t done anything to comfort him. She replied, “I’m doing something,” referring to her being on the computer. I was upset and asked, “You couldn’t have had him sit on your lap if the computer was more important than the kids?”
What made the situation worse was that there was another staff member in the room, sitting at the kids’ table doing something alone. She made no effort to step in and help either. My son was clearly upset and received no attention or comfort from either of them.
As a parent, it’s heartbreaking to see your child ignored when they’re in distress especially in a place meant to care for children. I’ve since removed my son from my gym membership and will no longer be bringing him to the kids area.
I hope this feedback encourages better training and attentiveness from the staff working with children. Kids deserve a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, especially when their parents are trusting others to look after them.
