They are strict but it’s important for motorcycle riding also allot of the bad reviews are from people who didn’t pass the class so keep that in mind. My only thing that I would like then to improve on is better bikes but I bet they would just get stolen.

Carl and Anthony were great instructors, very thorough with each section. Carl would do demonstrations more than once to make sure we understood what to do and would tell the class what to look out for. As long as you come with the attitude to learn and leave the ego at home you'll have plenty of fun and learn a lot about motorcycle safety.

Class time was simple and so was the written test, mainly common sense. Riding was cool, instructors are firm but because of safety which makes sense. But they’re forgiving because they get you’ve only been riding for 2 days. If you wanna learn to ride, just come here.

From Bay Area Motorcycle Training

We are a California Motorcyclist Safety Program school. Students that pass our beginning class will receive a DL389, which may waive the M1 skill test at the DMV and is a licensing requirement for those that are under 21. We are the only school to provide the DL389 within San Francisco city limits, our Alameda site (formerly Califonia Rider Education(CaRE)) is the closest school to the Oakland/Berkeley area and our Vallejo school is at the Solano County Fairgrounds, across the street from Discovery Kingdom. You may choose from classes that have in person classroom sessions or online classroom sessions, but ALL classes at our school consist of IN PERSON riding sessions ON A MOTORCYCLE.
