Dr. Shim has been our family pediatrician for years, caring for all four of our daughters with the highest level of professionalism, compassion, and dedication. From the very beginning, she has gone above and beyond at every appointment — taking time with each child, making them feel heard, safe, and genuinely cared for.
She doesn’t just treat symptoms; she builds lasting relationships with her patients and their families. Dr. Shim has a calming presence, is always thorough in her explanations, and has a true gift for working with children. Her kindness and warmth made even routine visits something our girls looked forward to.
We are so grateful for the excellent care Dr. Shim has provided over the years. It’s rare to find a physician who consistently offers both clinical excellence and such a loving, personal touch. Dr. Shim is truly one of a kind, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to any family seeking a pediatrician.

Kaiser upland is by far one of the best Dr. offices we have been too. I have been going there for 8 years now where we met our amazing pediatrician Dr. Jae Shim she is one of a kind she cares so much about all her patients and puts so much effort into each of them. We are very lucky to have her care for our child. As I’ve been there through the years Dr. Zarins is a great family Dr. she is very attentive and cares very much for her patients. Overall upland Kaiser is fantastic and I recommend them all the time.

The Upland office is super convenient. It’s usually less crowded and we love the doctors there. Dr. Shim is amazing and has been my kids pediatrician for 20 years! She always takes the time needed to really listen to our concerns and always goes above and beyond. She went out of her way to check on my son when he was in the hospital and always called to follow up and see how the kids were doing. Thank you Dr Shim! ❤️

Dr. Shim and her nurse Heather are an amazing dream team for our kid’s health. Dr. Shim is a doctor who is a strong advocate for her patients in all situations but especially when having to deal with school districts for a child with health issues. She is extremely respectful of parents who want to do their own research and want to make some changes in typical standards regarding medical timelines as they grow up within reason. She is terrific about returning calls and emails and has been our best doctor in a long list of doctors we have used as I have 3 kids who are medically complex which naturally makes you a team with the medical professionals. Dr. Shim was the easiest person on those teams to work with and was an amazing advocate for my children getting what they needed from tests, referrals, etc to making sure her mental health was always tended to. I was sad when each kid was turning 18 because I knew they could no longer be cared for by Dr. Shim.
