MUSICALison - Online piano lessons for beginners

For the past 18 months my son and I have been taking weekly beginner piano lessons with Ms. Alison. I can’t say enough good things about Alison and her approach to teaching both of us. When we started, my son was 5 years old but was quickly comfortable with Alison. She is sensitive to his needs (attention span, good days/bad days) and has even encouraged him to learn to sing along with the pieces he is learning. He has now performed in 2 recitals that she and her boyfriend Brian Doyle (a fabulous drum teacher himself!) put on for their students and he actually happily went first in both shows! It’s been amazing to see his progress over the past 1.5 years and I attribute much of his success to her teaching style. As for myself, I had always wanted to learn how to play piano but never found the time so I thought this was a great opportunity to learn along with my son. We each spend 30 minutes a week with Alison (plus daily practice time on our own) and I’m proud to say I’ve also made good progress. While you won’t see me volunteering for any piano recitals in the near term, I’ve enjoyed learning this new skill and truly look forward to my time with Alison each week. Even when I give her my excuses for lack of practice, she is supportive and identifies different ways to keep it interesting. She is available for lessons either in your home (what we do for a little extra money) or in her apartment in Torrance.

We LOVE Ms. Alison! We found Alison when my son was just 3 yrs old and it made such a difference! My son is very high energy and loud and she knew just how to handle him! His love for music has grown thanks to Alison and he also performed in 2 of her beautiful recitals! Thank you Alison for teaching my son to LOVE and ENJOY Music! We recently moved away and can not find someone as good as her. Thank you again and We Miss You! ❤️

Ms. Alison is a great role model and a fantastic piano and vocal teacher I wished I'd found as a young girl. Our daughter looks forward to Ms. Alison's weekly visit for piano and vocal lessons. I watch my daughter as she enthusiastically engages in each lesson. I love Ms. Alison’s energy, spirit, humor, kindness, patience and her teaching methods. Ms. Alison is amazing with children and creates an environment that is friendly and inspiring. She organizes recitals to encourage practice and also to improve their confidence. Ms. Alison also comes up with creative ways to learn. Thankfully she is dog friendly and our pets enjoy her weekly visits too!
