I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful experience I had with the Topanga Pet Resort. My precious 3 1/2 year old Shiba Inu pup had many behavioral issues as I pretty much let her do whatever she wanted since she was a puppy. She did the 3 week ESS session and has returned a whole new dog she is so well behaved, walks in tandem with me, sits when asked to, is not at all possessive any longer, doesn’t snap when disciplined, is now patient and friendly! I am beside myself on her progress and will continue to follow all the training the team gave me to continue to help Sasha flourish! HUGE SHOUT out to her trainer Brandon Moreno who was an incredible trainer, a wealth of knowledge and so patient and kind with her! WE LOVE THE TOPANGA PET RESORT!!!!
About Topanga Pet Resort
Topanga Pet Resort, located in Topanga Canyon, offers dog training and boarding services and is known for its quality care. The resort has a spacious indoor/outdoor run with scenic views and provides premium food and supervised playtime in large outdoor exercise areas for 6-7 hours a day. Staff are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and offer great rates.
The personnel at this boarding facility helped to lessen anxiety about leaving dogs there. The indoor and outdoor runs offer breathtaking views of the countryside, and updates about dogs' leisure exploits are often provided. Visitors have enjoyed the opportunity for their dogs to socialize with other dogs and appreciated the caring staff. The trainers are skilled, patient, and understand the breed, tailoring training to individual needs, which has resulted in noticeable improvements in behavior. The facility is clean and safe, and there are special events like photo sessions with Santa. In emergency cases, large dogs can be boarded on short notice. However, some customers have experienced a lack of updates, photos, or web camera access during their dog's stay. There is also a cautionary note about Kennel Cough, which can lead to significant vet expenses, so some may choose not to return. Overall, many find the resort a great place for their dogs, despite the longer drive, and highly recommend it for its caring staff and excellent services.
Reviews
What a place! My wife and I visited a dear friend's dog at Topanga Pet Resort this past weekend. When we encountered Ivy, a precious 2 year old Pitty, she seemed very relaxed and well fed. We found the boarding facility to truly feel like a resort. The surrounding trees and ample greenery make the place very serene. All the dogs that were being housed and those who were coming in for training seemed genuinely happy to be there. Additionally, we met a couple of the trainers during our visit there and they were extremely knowledgeable and compassionate towards their canine friends. If you need a place to take your furry friend, Topanga Pet Resort is the place!
Our experience with Topanga Pet Resort was absolutely amazing. We were thoroughly impressed with how they handled everything from start to finish. The staff was kind, professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about our pet’s comfort and well-being. The facility was clean, organized, and gave us peace of mind the entire time. Communication was excellent, and it was clear our pet was being treated with love and attention. It’s hard to find a place you can fully trust with your fur baby, but this team truly exceeded expectations. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality pet care!
