We have a 1924 bungalow house that had not seen an exterior paint job in decades. Robert Gibbs gave us a fair quote for doing the work (we got one other price, which was very comparable). The crew, two guys both by the name of Jose, showed up each day on time, worked diligently, and cleaned up after themselves, and obviously took pride in their work. We appreciated that they did extra cleanup for the weekends, including unmasking some windows so that we could get better ventilation during a hot stretch. Extensive prep was done: scraping, cleaning, sanding, caulking, and filling. Two different kinds of primer were applied for different issues, and two coats of final color, one back rolled. The job was completed in two and a half weeks, exactly as we had had been told to expect. We are very pleased with the end result, currently! Only time will tell if the prep was adequate for the condition of our old house with flaking/peeling paint and bare wood. Even this concern, though, was met with a guarantee of their work and a request that we give Redwood Coast Painting the opportunity to make right any potential issues that show up.

We've just relocated to SoCo recently so it takes an adjustment to realize that there just aren't that many reviews online. Most referrals seem to be word of mouth up here, so I'm posting this in case it helps someone else. We wanted to remove the wallpaper in 3 rooms and repaint accent walls to a more neutral color in 2 others. I called Robert for an estimate and he came out quickly. Robert offered us 15% off to be on standby for a rainy day since the bulk of his business is through exterior jobs. Well, it's rained quite a bit and our turn came up relatively quickly. Alex, Mario, and David did a very through job. Wallpaper removal is very laborious and difficult to predict. The walls also had to be retextured since they were from the original construction. Everyone was polite, professional and friendly and very respectful of our home. Most of the companies I talked with would not do wallpaper and suggested we get a separate drywall team. We're very thankful to Robert and his team for a beautiful facelift to our dated house. Now I have the daunting task of decorating!
