One family recently visited the clinic to get a second opinion about their 14-year-old black lab's tumors. The clinic offered surgical removal as an option, and while the tumor turned out to be cancerous and the recovery was uncertain, the family was grateful for the honesty and options provided. They appreciated the staff's understanding and flexibility when they decided to put their dog down, and were touched by the thoughtful gestures such as being able to say goodbye in a peaceful room with candles and blankets, and receiving a handwritten card with their dog's paw print. Another family has been bringing their pets to the clinic for many years and highly regards the current veterinarians. They were impressed by the veterinarian's kindness, patience, and helpfulness when their pet was diagnosed with aggressive cancer. The staff's support and understanding during the difficult decision to put their pet down, and the thoughtful details such as a soft blanket, dimmed lights, and choices about staying with their pet during the process, were greatly appreciated. The clinic's staff are known for their love for pets, as they are always kind and gentle with the animals and their owners. The vet techs, in particular, are praised for their skills and compassion with the family's "pupperoni". Overall, Scotts Valley Veterinary is a veterinary clinic that provides excellent care for pets and their owners, with a staff that is knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate.
Dr. Em and Dr. Shull are the absolute best! We have been bringing our pets here for over 30 years, and they have always been so understanding, kind, and experts in their field. Dr. Miller is always an incredible sounding board, and recently, with my dog Cooper's surgery, they have been with me every step of the way and encouraged me to get a second opinion. They are fast to respond and reliable. They always make you feel as if your pet is their pet, and you can tell they truly care. I've been bringing my French Bulldog to this veterinary office since he was a puppy, and the level of care has consistently exceeded my expectations. A few weeks ago, he was unable to put any pressure on one of his paws. I called the office, and they were able to get him in the same day. A few days later, I received a follow-up text from his veterinarian checking in on his recovery. This kind of personalized, compassionate care is truly rare. I'm incredibly grateful for their dedication and highly recommend their services.
We recently brought our mini dachshund to SV Vet Clinic, having been moved from another local vet. They were AMAZING from start to finish! New client registration & check-in was so easy (& fast!), friendly & helpful staff and super attentive & caring medical personnel. They even matched us to a doc that knew my breed. We appreciated that they stepped through all of the recommended vaccinations (with what they did and the counter indications), made recommendations on different types of flea & tick treatments, were quick to turn around test results and even provided expert advice on travel & access to online apps.
