I’ve been going to Javier Bello for about seven years, including plenty of weekend visits, and he is simply amazing.
One of my favorite Javier stories: before a trip to Europe, I wanted a pair of pick pocket-proof pants hemmed at the last minute. Javier somehow managed to get them done the very same day so I could take them on my trip.
But what really says something about his craftsmanship is that I once brought him an old backpack that had become a family heirloom. Came to Santa Monica Tailor for the first time as I am looking for a new go-to tailor in the area. Recently I’ve found many places with turnaround times of over a week, sometimes two weeks, for simple hemming or strap adjustments. Thankfully here, I was able to get my alterations back in under a week. Javier was communicative and worked with me to make sure I felt comfortable with the options before committing to a solution. My dresses were done on time, steamed and delivered hanging in a garment bag on pickup.
