Called at 4:30 with an eye emergency for my husband. From the moment the receptionist answered the phone I knew I made the right call. She understood the urgency and didn’t make me feel rushed or a burden at all (the office closes at 5). She immediately asked management if they could accommodate and found an optometrist that was still there and was “more than happy” to squeeze my husband in most likely resulting in getting home later than they had all expected. These days you don’t get this kind of care with genuine concern and hospitality like this office showed us. My husband had a foreign object removed that same day, a prescription at the pharmacy and was home and in bed and able to return to work the following day all thanks to this office (the other eye place I called wouldn’t have been able to see him for at least two weeks) and we weren’t even returning, this was our first time. I will forever sing praises about Shepard eye center in Santa Maria and how they are just 100% great people who genuinely care for patients. I believe this speaks volumes about how the management of the center treats their staff because they clearly all enjoy their work place which in turn creates an excellent work environment and service for patients. Thank you Shepard eye center!
