I planned my wedding very late, and got my dress way later than I had hoped at Brides for a Cause in Sacramento. Holly agreed to help alter it on a very short timeline and the results were beautiful -- she took a dress that was a decent fit and made it perfect for me. She even added gorgeous extra lace from a previous project, which made what started as an average dress become totally stunning. Not only that, but she helped talk through other wedding details as I wrapped up the last stages of planning. I don't know what my wedding would have been like without her. Holly Merritt is one of a kind. Not only is she an incredible seamstress/alterations person, she's also a clothing designer! I mention that because she took two dresses--which I needed to wear to my son's wedding, which I am officiating--and completely transformed them. I'm really short, and she raised up the waistbands to hit my natural waist, which made both dresses look so much more flattering! Because the wedding will be outside in the summer in Santa Rosa (about 5 pm), I am not sure what the weather will be like. So I bought a dress and a suit. Holly is insanely kind and a brilliant tailor!!! She saved my wedding jumpsuit in the nick of time when multiple other tailors told me it was impossible. She is a one woman show so I have a lot of compassion for her juggling being her own receptionist as well. If you are looking for a super reliable and experienced tailor for high pressure, time sensitive situations like weddings - I wouldn't trust anyone else in the Santa Cruz area. Thank you Holly!!!!
