It is noted that the school was a great place to train in the past and remains the top choice for a return to Aikido. Despite not training there since 1991, the reviewer, who is an experienced martial arts teacher, strongly recommends the group. Please note that there is a humorous anecdote about a person trying to enter the "Aikido Door Company" with a bad attitude, which is unrelated to the actual school.

Aikido of Santa Cruz is a wonderful dojo with a welcoming, caring, and helpful community. It is a great place for people of all ages and backgrounds. I have much greater peace, patience, and joy in my life thanks to my Aikido practice. In addition, they have wonderful programs for children and teens. My daughter has been in their children's program for 4 years and she has improved self-confidence and coordination. If you are looking to try a martial art, Aikido is a great one to try, even if you think you may not be athletic or graceful. Aikido will really help you to feel more comfortable with yourself and help you to be able to express who you really are.
