Fairways and greens are generally well-kept, though some visitors find the greens unimpressive. The golf carts do not have GPS or screens, offering a more traditional experience. The staff was very nice and attentive. I think the layout is great as its not a bang it off the tee with a driver on every hole. Need to keep in play as there is not a lot of room if you miss the fairway and a thick desert in most areas. Can find the balls but not play in most cases. Not sure if we played on an off day but thought the fairways could have been mowed. Some of the greens showed burned or lost areas (mostly small spots) but they were working on them and they rolled okay. Still worth playing for the layout and views!!
It’s a challenging, beautiful course with a lot of great holes but the greens were abysmal for the price you pay. I likely won’t play again until I hear the greens are in much better shape.
We played the Desert/Mountain courses. The Desert course greens had so much water on them that there were puddles and we had to putt through standing water. The Mountain course wasn't nearly as wet, but the greens are starting to show signs of scalping and getting puffy from overwatering. The 3rd green is showing signs of scalping and the 7th green seen in this picture already has visible damage from repeated scalping due to excessive grass growth.
