I meant to review sooner, but still resting and recovering from my ALIF surgery that I had at SRRMC on 1/12. What a great experience from start to finish (minus needing surgery, but you know what I mean). Everyone from the pre-op nurse who calmed my anxiety (whose name is escaping me), to Doctors Harris, Ochalek and Singh (and the rest of their surgery team) were amazing. The last thing I remember was having a nice conversation with Dr. Singh about the niners before gently waking up after surgery. They all really made the surgery as comfortable as it could possibly be.
My post op experience was second to none. I had a wonderful recovery nurse who told me all about her kids (if anyone can verify her name, I’d appreciate it!) and then was moved up to a private room where Katie took over my care. She was the absolute best nurse I’ve ever had. She was attentive, kind and went out of her way to get anything I (or my partner) needed. She transferred care to our night nurse (who was great, but I was asleep most of the night), but promised to come check on us the next day when she got back into work. We really felt cared for and comfortable with Katie and thank her for the level of care she provided. If there’s a way to recommend nurses, she’d be at the top of the list!
Diane was our nurse the next morning, and she was awesome. We got super lucky with her because even though it was crazy busy that morning, she went out of her way to make sure we always had everything we needed. She was kind, attentive and we could tell she was running around trying to take care of 10 people at once (and doing a great job at it). We talked everything from travel to traffic and you definitely made the morning after surgery much more bearable.
All in all, about the best experience I could have asked for. For the nurses whose name’s I have forgotten, I’m sorry! I was out of it for a while with anesthesia, meds, etc. and there were a lot of you helping. You were all great and very much appreciated. If I ever need to go back into surgery, I’m definitely coming back here. Thanks again.

I came here for concern with bleeding.
They told me I wasn’t bleeding out enough for care. For some reason also got a CT scan.
Got sent home with an “prescription” for an OTC anti-itch cream, essentially just topical Benadryl.
Waited until the morning and went to the urgent care. The wound in question was six inches long. I got “stitches”. Urgent care almost refused care and tried to tell me to go to the ER.

My experience at the Family Birthing Center at San Ramon Regional Medical Center was truly a blessing! From the moment I arrived until the time we were discharged, every single staff member treated me with such kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Giving birth is one of the most vulnerable and emotional moments in a woman’s life, and the FBC team made me feel safe, supported, respected, and deeply cared for. The nurses were attentive and loving, the doctors were calm and reassuring, and everyone worked together seamlessly to make this experience as peaceful and positive as possible.
Special shout-out to Dr. Perloff, Tori, Farah, Liz, Ashley, Cheryl, Wini, AnnaLisa, and amazing pediatrician — and I’m so sorry for forgetting more names or misspelling . You are truly the dream team!
It was clear that this is not just a job for them — they truly care about mothers and babies. I will forever be grateful for the compassion, patience, and excellence shown to me and my family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the entire Family Birthing Center team and Dr. Perloff. You made the birth of my child an unforgettable and beautiful experience. With love, Le Meur Family

I had an unexpected and worrisome surgery at this facility. I want to emphatically say how wonderful the entire team was beginning with my registration. Jennifer welcomed me at the desk and her demeanor immediately put me at ease! She and her coworkers made what seemed like a special effort but more likely a common and welcoming one. The team that prepped and finally performed the procedure were exceptional as well. They had great personalities yet were completely professional and confident. Thank you all! B Becker, Concord

This is the absolute worst healthcare facility I have ever been to. Please go to literally any other medical facility. The phlebotomist spilled blood all over me. The nurse asked me zero questions and explained nothing before and after a breathing treatment and then that nurse after speaking no words to me, told the doctor I felt fine afterwards after asking zero questions and not telling me how to even breathe in the treatment. The doctor did not review my chest X-ray with me and just said “you’re fine, we are sending you home with pain killers”. I am here for chest pain and difficulty breathing. Before releasing me they didn’t ask me how my breathing is they told ME how I was feeling and said “the nurse said you said your breathing is better.” You mean the nurse that didn’t talk to me?

To the Amazing Family Birthing Team at SRRMC,
I recently gave birth to my baby boy nine days ago, and I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible care I received during my stay. I was induced and, I was scared and nervous. But from the very beginning, I felt at ease knowing I was in such capable and compassionate hands.
My labor lasted 18 hours and had its fair share of ups and downs, but the nursing staff truly carried me through it. Farah, my first nurse during the day shift, and Kim, my night nurse, were both remarkable. They kept me informed, encouraged me when I felt weak, and made me feel genuinely cared for. Later that night, when things began moving quickly, Kim called in Nurse Lisa to assist her even though Lisa wasn’t assigned to me. Watching how they worked together with such teamwork and kindness was something I’ll never forget. Both of these women went above and beyond their duties, and I will forever be thankful for them.
I also have to recognize my OB-GYN, Dr. Shammout, who was truly my biggest cheerleader in the delivery room. His calm confidence, compassion, and support gave me the strength I needed to get through. SRRMC is lucky to have such an exceptional doctor, and I will recommend him to anyone seeking a provider who genuinely cares for his patients.
After delivery, I was cared for by more amazing nurses Tori, Ashley, Haley, Cassie, and the supervisor Shannon. Each of them treated me with such kindness and warmth. They made sure I was comfortable, checked on me regularly, and celebrated every little milestone with me. It honestly felt like being surrounded by family.
When my baby’s blood sugar levels came back low, everyone worked together to make sure he received the best care possible. They reassured me, explained each step with patience, and did everything they could to help stabilize him. What touched me the most was how they all communicated between shifts to stay updated on his progress. That level of dedication and care meant the world to me.
Leaving the hospital was bittersweet. I was excited to bring my baby home but sad to say goodbye to the wonderful team that supported me through one of the most important moments of my life. Every nurse, doctor, and staff member I encountered showed true compassion and professionalism.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your kindness, care, and support. You made what could have been a stressful and frightening experience into one filled with comfort, love, and strength. I will never forget how you made me feel.
Much love Jackie & Baby Elijah

Nerves, fear driven, mind spiraling in the uncertainty of what's to come. My wife was about to bare my first child...a boy. I want to take a moment to publicly acknowledge, promote and advocate for San Ramon Regional Medical Center's Family Birthing Center and none other than Dr. Fadel Shammout, my wife's OBGYN.
This team of professionals worked tirelessly to help my boy come into this world safely. My wife had to be induced early and my boy wanted to stay inside his mommy.
Fear eased as I personally witnessed a seamless unity amongst nurses, doctor's and most honest truth, every single person I encountered. Small example, I was lost in the parking lot and asked a random man with a staff badge how to find the South building. The man's name was Joey. Joey pointed initially and gave instructions and paused mid way and asked if it was OK if he just took me there. And that he did. Folks, that stuff matters!!!!
I was privy to the COO and CEO at some point that day and just had to highlight how impressed and thankful we were for their attentiveness, kindness and professionalism. Joey is an engineer. Thanx Joey. Thank you Dr. Shammout. Thank you Nurse Kim and Lisa from Mississippi. You all blessed my family with the delivery of a healthy baby boy.
And lastly, Dr. Hassan who was so diligent!!!! I recommend highly San Ramon Regional Medical Center and their Family Birthing Center!!! I am confident all families are treated the same way!!!

I would strongly advise avoiding this emergency room if at all possible. The billing practices here are some of the most predatory I’ve encountered in healthcare.
For comparison: I had the exact same CT scan (same body area, same contrast) performed at another local hospital for $1,202, billed through Bass Medical Group under the proper CPT code 74177 (“CT Abdomen and Pelvis with Contrast”). That is the standard, nationally recognized code for this type of scan. See attached
At this hospital, however, the same scan was billed under code 005054177 — a nonstandard, internal charge-master code — for an outrageous $37,493.00. This isn’t even a legitimate CPT medical billing code. It appears to be an in-house code designed to obscure true costs by bundling and unbundling charges in a way most patients would never catch.
That’s more than 30 times the fair market price for a simple diagnostic scan. The hospital seems to pile on fees for every conceivable item — contrast, supplies, technician time, facility overhead — all hidden behind proprietary codes with no transparency or accountability.
It doesn’t feel like patient care; it feels like a billing trap. Honest healthcare providers use standardized CPT codes and clear pricing. This hospital uses opaque internal codes and inflated rates that can devastate patients financially.
If you value your health, your sanity, and your wallet, stay far away from this emergency room. Patients deserve transparency, fairness, and ethical billing — none of which I found here.
