Guitar Safari is San Pedro's original vintage guitar and repair shop, in business for over 24 years. It is a specialist shop for string instruments, focusing on the restoration and refinishing of vintage guitars and tube amplifiers. The shop sells vintage equipment, supplies, and hundreds of vintage vinyl records. Appointments are preferred, and customers are asked to call first when bringing equipment for evaluation, sale, or trade. The luthiers provide reliable, high-quality repair work, with excellent communication.

2 stars because of the solid selection, but not the greatest customer service. As a musician, I appreciate a shop run by artists, who know gear inside and out. My experience at guitar safari was worse than going to guitar center

Not enough good things to say about Dirk!!!! I reached out to him to fix a guitar that was broken by a student. Soon as I told him I was a teacher, he said he would do his best to fix it for free!!!!!!! This guitar had a BAD break! Dirk fixed it!!! Made it look brand new and it sounds great!!!! He was reliable with communication. Even worked with me for crazy hours of drop off and pick up. He's amazing and I will definitely be back!!! Thanks Dirk!!!

Dirk is da man! I have both bought and sold items thru guitar Safari as well as had repairs made. Always came out smiling. If Dirk can’t find it or fix it no one can. Also the coolest T-shirts in the Southbay!
