We did the one on one private training package with Anthony for our 16 weeks old doberman. He utilized straight forward technic and very patient with us. I have been searching for a trainer for my 2 year old Rottweiler since we picked him up from the breeder June 2021. I thought I could train my dog-o on my own, but I thought wrong. He knew some basics, but he needed fine tuning. I found Anthony (Powerhouse K9) on Yelp mid-2022, but kept going back and forth with justifying placing him in a board and train for several weeks. After finding out we were expecting our second child, I knew we had to make sure his training was tight. I contacted Powerhouse K9 and spoke with Anthony. Anthony was very responsive and told it like how it was. I provided information about our dog and our concerns and he made his suggestion on how we should approach his training. Initially he suggested 1:1 training, but my husband and I were unable to go with this route because of our opposite work schedules. We inquired about the board and train and agreed this was the best option for our family. We dropped Chase off, spoke with Anthony and he advised how the process would be. Throughout the board and train, we received updates and videos of Chase and his progress. When it was time to pick up Chase, we coordinated a time to pick him up. Prior to pick up, Anthony ensured Chase was bathed. He made sure to go over his techniques and how we should approach our handling our dog once we got home. Once we arrived home, our family (my mother, daughter, sister, brother-in-law, sister's dog, and baby niece) greeted him. He has been pleasant with everyone and is adjusting well. We plan on working with Chase to ensure he doesn't lose what he learned with Anthony. Thank you Powerhouse K9 and Anthony for giving us the tools to make sure we're responsible dog owners! My family and I were going out of the country and left our 3 month old GSD, Ponzu, with Anthony for the 3 week boot camp. Before the boot camp Ponzu was a very energetic and eager puppy; when her vaccinations were completed we started taking her on walks and she'd pull so hard on the leash she would almost start choking herself. I was afraid she'd hurt herself if she wasn't trained and saw the board and train as a great opportunity for her to learn how to properly walk on leash. She also had trouble with obedience when I didn't have treats in hand; she wouldn't listen or pay attention to us unless we had a treat. As I tried to train her on basic commands she would only do as told if I had a treat and if I didn't have treats she would become extremely mouthy. This is my first time being a dog owner, so I didn't know how to properly train her/handle her treats. Since she's come back from the boot camp, she still acts like a puppy, but she is a lot more calm, confident, and obedient. She actually listens when we tell her no and she's not as mouthy anymore. She walks on the leash way better now and only pulls when she's overstimulated, which Anthony advised us on what to do in those situations. She listens to commands and doesn't need redirection as often. She's not perfect, but Anthony really laid the foundation so we can work towards her being a confident and obedient dog. In addition to the great training, Anthony has been extremely accommodating and helpful; we had to leave Ponzu there for an additional week due to scheduling issues and he was more than happy to keep her and work with us. Anthony also let us know that we can come back and brush up on training at anytime which is really helpful to know. Overall, I would strongly recommend PowerHouseK9 and entrust your dog to Anthony because he definitely knows what he's doing!
