My husband David B and I wrote in 2011 in Yelp how wonderful Valerie and her team painted our home. We were happy to refer her to several people in the neighborhood because she did such nice work. We recently hired her (even though she is much pricier than other painters) for our exterior. We were willing to pay the extra for good quality work and good customer service. She has lousy follow-through. I called 4 times to ask when her team would come back to finish our door and our beam, and no return phone calls. We hired Valerie and her crew to restore the cedar siding on our hillside home. The cedar shingles were in very bad condition, many cracked or warped and all darkened by weather and age. Additionally, our property is challenging because of the slope, which means that about half the house actually rises three stories. We'd been having trouble finding anyone who wanted to take on the job. The few quotes I'd received had been high and I didn't feel confident in that the work would be done to our standard. Valerie took a look at the job, was undaunted, confident and enthusiastic about the work. She offered ideas and solutions where others just saw problems.... read full review

Valerie's team painted the interior of our new 1940s Rancher's style home in RWC that has been lovingly preserved. We have a brilliant white living room that is at the center of the house. We wanted to surround that with warmth of yellow. She helped us pick two sets of yellows - guiding us with a firm hand. She made us some swatches that we could look at. We made a final choice based on how the colors looked across varying degrees of sunlight. Her team was courteous and careful. They prepared the walls meticulously. The paint job is perfect technically - we have a lot of wood trims/wainscoting etc. End product is a lightness and subtle cheerfulness compared... read full review
