My experience as a new patient was excellent. The staff were attentive and welcoming—Gracie, Emma, and Brandon were especially helpful and kind. Dr. Ho was easy to talk to, made me feel completely comfortable, and was very thorough and informative throughout the exam. I truly appreciated that the office was not pushy about selling products. I’ve already recommended this clinic to a friend. Hands down, a great optometry practice. Thank you Dr. Ho!

I’ve been coming here for maybe over 6 years. Their customer service is wonderful, especially Gracie! Dr.Lai always remembers what I told him a year ago! It’s a nice touch! Definitely recommend! They also are super kind about helping look for frames you like and I’ve never felt pressured to buy anything I wasn’t sure of, which is super nice!

I have been going to Eyeworks of San Mateo for five years to have my annual eye examination and get updated prescription for my glasses. The optometry is conveniently located in downtown San Mateo. The office is clean and pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dr. Gary Lai is very personable, patient, and knowledgeable. He always takes time to explain things, share advice, and discuss my concerns. Dr. Lai is also very experienced and thorough with his work. He identified a medical issue with my vision and recommended that I see an ophthalmologist. He is simply the best optometrist I have worked with.
