I'm glad to have our daughter doing important work for this exceptional school! Learning differences are real. This place really tackles all kinds of challenges. It is meaningful work in helping to change the lives of teens who don't do well in the standard educational environment.
I was a teacher at Compass High School for 3 semesters. I cannot say how very much I am impressed with the teachers and staff at this school. Each teacher approaches every student with sincere consideration of their learning situation. Programs are designed for students' success and all the staff and support teams go way beyond anything I have seen before. The students are encouraged and supported to be successful, both academically and socially. Parents are an important part of the team work and every parent I spoke with showed admiration and appreciation for the learning specialists at Compass. It is a safe environment for students with many differences and the students genuinely practice kindness towards each other. I have taught in a variety of schools for nearly 20 years, and Compass is the most successful program I've ever encountered.
My son is currently a Senior and has been at Compass since Freshman year and we are so thankful we found this school! The teachers and staff are encouraging and supportive, but also challenge our son when they know he can use that extra push. When they transitioned to remote learning, Compass didn't miss a beat. They made the switch seamlessly and my son didn't lose any instruction time. Their continued their constant communication with families which helped a lot in the midst of changing county guidelines. We are all so glad he's back in school with safe and responsible guidelines among his friends and teachers that he loves.
