As Omar says the term, this term can be meant positively or negatively. I've used it both ways, but mostly in a positive way. I usually say "bud" when I'm being positive and "buddy" when I'm being negative. When I call someone bud, it's because I either don't know their name or can't remember it. After I've become friends with someone and see them more regularly as a friend or associate, I still sometimes call them bud, but I try to call them by their first name or first initial instead. With most communication turning to text or written form, it's difficult to call someone the same thing all the time because it starts to sound insincere.

Lately, I've been coming here a lot to purchase hard to find bolts. They always in stock and if it's not, Larry and Benjamin order the bolts that I needed and it arrives in a day or two. Larry and Benjamin are very helpful, friendly and professional. They have so much patience to deal with a customer like me that doesn't know anything about bolts and screws.

I've been here twice and both times they treated me with a lot of respect even though I had a small order. I needed a small specialty screw that no one else sells. They even recommended a good store for me to get a customized shower part. I really appreciate their help.
