We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it tremendously. Decided to make it part of our 50th anniversary trip. Bad choice. Should have gone to Madonna. There’s a reason it’s cheaper!!!Eaten at the restaurant many many times.
First noticed the Furnishings in room were run down, dirty. No wooden apples.
Room overlooked pool n was a little noisy. Went to eat breakfast and noticed (1) a Sysco truck unloading. This is a big turn off for us, we prefer “non packaged” meals, (2) found the entrance had moved and the gift shop was gone!!! Almost no one in restaurant, hours have changed so no dinner! We’ve waited up to 1-1/2 hours to be seated for dinner before and now they aren’t even open? Restroom stank, one stall was taped with an out of order sign that had been up a while. Floor dirty. That’s when I did a search and found it’s no longer owned by the original owners. We won’t be back. What was once a thriving inn and restaurant is now obviously on its way out.
So sad! It used to be one of the best places to stay and to eat in SLO.
Someone needs to buy this place and restore it to its former self.

Hotel is quaint. Check in went smoothly. The apple cider is delicious, as well as the cookies. The kids had a blast at the pool and they even had pool toys out for them to use.

We stayed at the Mill House Room and it was worth the upgrade. All of the staff at the hotel and restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful. Very relaxing and especially enjoyed the frogs at night as it was sooting to sleep to a nature sound and not sirens and cars. Will definitely return.

A lovely retreat in the middle of SLO. It feels like you have taken a step back in time. Quaint, fresh, charming. The bonus - warm, delicious chocolate chip cookies for guests.

This inn is an absolute gem! We will be returning many times. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and clean. Our room was quiet and even had sweet frogs singing from the nearby creek. The setup is lovely and has that old fashioned safe feel that invites you to enjoy and explore. We highly recommend!

Had a bad experience with a lost item. The front desk couldn’t explain the process, and didnt really seem to care about the issue at all. I was given conflicting information about how to retrieve item. One person said fill out the form and call back in and then call back in tomorrow morning. Then the following morning the person said nope cant help you and was just so disinterested in being helpful nor remotely sympathetic.

Not having an answer or understanding of a process is one thing, but the customer service was just aloof and “its not our problem good luck” kind of attitude. The experience pales in comparison from what you would get at a well established hotel chain.

Clean, spacious and beautiful decorated room. The whole property located on a quiet area with some preserved historic buildings. Good service, responded to a faucet issue quickly and taken care of our concerns with a meaningful solution.
